Wisdom Books was founded as an independent distributor of books on Buddhism and related subjects in 1989.

Since then we have become Europe's leading source of English language Buddhist books, and one of the largest independent distributors of Buddhist books in the world. There are now over 5,000 titles on our lists, from over one hundred publishers worldwide, covering all Buddhist traditions without partiality.

We provide an excellent and continually expanding mail-order service to our customers in the UK, Europe and Overseas. We supply books and other materials to over 500 Buddhist groups and teaching centres, and to thousands of individual mail order customers, many of whom are members of our Book Club and thus entitled to discounts on their orders and to regular updates providing information on new titles. We also supply direct to the book trade, where we are ably supported by our team of sales representatives.
